Summer is here finally in Cleveland. The weather is warmer, the sun is out, and its time to wear those nice strappy sandals or cool flip flops that you have. If your hippie it would be hirachi sandals :). Unfortunately our nails can get injured, have a fungus, or some other medical condition that could cause them to not have them nice appearance. I treat nail fungus, called onychomycosis, all the time. I mostly use the oral medication called Lamisil. Though the medication works well, it usually takes 6-12 months for the nails to look signifcantly better. Other patients have certain medical condtions that can cause issues with the nails. One condition is psoriasis. When psoriasis does affect the nails, it causes pitting in the nail that does not look pleasant. But there is a procedure that we do at Buckeye Foot Care, called Keryflex. Let me tell you a little bit more about it.

KeryFlex is a nail restoration system. This can only be done at a medical office and not a nail spa/salon. Some people might think that this is just like an acrylic, but that is so far from the truth. KeryFlex is made up of a resin/polymer that creates a flexible and durable non pourous nail which allows the natural remaining nail to grow and also does not allow any mositure between the nail and the resin. This gives an immediate cosmetic improvement that will provide a natural looking nail. The great thing about this is that the nail can be painted with nail polish and it is not affected by acetone or detergents. KeryFlex is comaptible with human tissue and does not cause any irritation. Because this is a cosmetic procedure, it is not covered by insurance. Mentioned that you read the blog and we will give you a special discount on the procedure. So don''t wait and try KeryFlex today!!!!
